I had to take McKenna to the doctor on Tuesday because she had blood in her stool. Doctor said she may be lactose intollerant
so he wanted me to switch the formula I was feeding her to a soy-based. He said to alternate the formula and breastmilk
for each feeding. If that did not clear up the problem, he wanted me to take her off of breastmilk. The blood
was still there on Thursday so we stopped the breastmilk. She is now only getting the formula and the blood is now gone.
We go back tomorrow for another check-up. At her appointment on Thursday she weighed 8lbs. 13oz--whoa baby!
She is starting to respond to voices by smiling. If I talk to her a lot, she'll really grin wide and then open
her mouth really wide--it is so cute. She is also starting to get more vocal, I am calling it the baby laugh.
It kind of sounds like "aahgoo." Its so adorable and I grin from ear to ear when she does it!
I can't believe how big she is getting. She fits into some of her clothes now and has outgrown some premie pajamas,
but I guess that is to be expected:)

She went back to the doctor yesterday and the doctor said she probably has a protein intollerance so she needs to stay
off of the breastmilk. She will probably grow out of it, most kids do. She has to go back one more time next Monday
to make sure she is gaining weight on this new formula. She only gained 2 ounces over the weekend so the doctor was
a little concerned.

We had quite a scare this afternoon. McKenna was sleeping on our bed and I was finishing getting ready. I
went into the bathroom to dry my hair and looked at her. Her eyes were open but I knew she was sleeping--sometimes she
sleeps with her eyes open or when she dreams her eyes do crazy things. When I finished, I walked to the closet and looked
at her and she still had her eyes open and she looked lifeless. I said "McKenna" and shook her a little and got
no response--usually her arms jerk if I startler her. Then I said "McKenna" a little louder and shook her more and still
nothing. Super scared, I yelled her name and shook her some more and she let out a little cry. Man, that was so
scary I almost pooped myself! The look on her face almost made me drop to the ground. All I could do after that
was hold her and hug her and tell her how much I loved her. I think that is the scariest thing that can ever happen
to a mom!!

We went to the doctor today to get her weight checked to make sure she was gaining weight with the new formula.
Doctor said a little over, or was it almost, an ounce a day so she is good. Then I told him about our little episode
yesterday and he was curious to know if she was breathing or not when this happened. I told him I was too scared, it
didn't really dawn on me to check. He said she could have been in a deep sleep or dreaming and some babies don't wake
up until the house pretty much falls on them. He said he didn't really think it was apnea because she didn't turn blue
but he couldn't rule it out because I didn't know if she was breathing. So, he got her a prescription for an
apnea monitor for my comfort. She will be monitored for 4 months and hopefully nothing will go wrong!! I swear,
if its not one thing, its another!!! Lets pray that this monitor never goes off!

Matt and I were quite sick Friday night and I was afraid she was going to get it. She was a little more fussy than
normal yesterday and was running a little fever but nothing too bad, thank goodness! The monitor hasn't sounded since
I've had it attached to her, except for the false alarms which means a wire is loose. The past two nights I haven't
attached her cause I've been too ill. Hopefully that was just a deep sleep she was in last Sunday! She is doing
great at the day care when I am at the gym. She has been sleeping the whole time and not bothering me by pooping!! If
she poops, they call me and I have to go and change her--pain in the butt! All else is going well...did you take a look
at the new pics?

McKenna got her ears pierced last Tuesday and she did so well! The first one she cried like 2 seconds (not even
exagerating!) and the second one her face turned red and she just whimpered a little bit. She looks so darn cute!!
She has gradually started swatting at her toys and grabbing them while they hang above her in the car or in her vibrating
chair. Yesterday she was having a ball in the car with the little butterfly that rattled, my little girl is getting
so big!!
I think she may be teething--we soon shall see. She chewed on my finger for over an hour the other night and on
and off she has been doing that the last couple of days. I can't feel or see anything so I guess only time will
tell.

McKenna has a virus and its so bad. She has had it since last Tuesday. She has diarreah very bad and has
had a couple days of vomitting. She has been to the emergency room twice--both times she had to see the same stupid
doctor who keeps saying that she is fine and that they can't do anything. I don't think its normal for a 3 month old
to have 8-10 diarreah diapers per day and puke up all she eats but ok, as long as the doctor says she is ok, then she must
be ok, right?! It is quite frustrating cause I don't want her to get dehydrated--she sometimes goes over 6 hours without
wetting a diaper and she has periods where her lips are dry--but, like the doctor says, she is fine. We go and see the
pediatrician tomorrow, I hope she starts to feel better by then!!!
She is going to be taking her first trip on April 1st. We are going out to Arizona to spend a couple days with
my grandparents and relax. We are due for some relaxation time so what better place to do it than my favorite state?!
I am so excited, I know she is too!

She is getting to be such a big girl. She is doing a great job sitting up against the couch all by herself.
She can even sit in her walker and not fall forward or have her head all over the place. She is gaining weight again
like a champ and her first stretch of sleep at night is now 5 or 6 hours!!

We hit a milestone--McKenna rolled from tummy to back tonight, yippy!!! I have been giving her a lot of tummy time
since we got back from Arizona because I know the doc is going to ask at her 4 month appt (that is something they stress a
lot on). So today it looked like she was just about to turn over but every time, she didn't make it but half way. Then
tonight, Matt helped her a little bit with his finger and she did it. Then I made her do it all by herself and she listened
very well! She is going to be cruisin in no time!!
Our trip to AZ went great. Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed her quite a bit I think--even though she was quite fussy.
She did great on the airplane there and back--on the way there she fussed a little but I think it was because it was a long
trip (we got delayed) and the pressure was bothering her ears as we went over the mountains in AZ. Then on the way back
to NC, she slept the whole way. She woke up once to eat and then was out like a light again. She got to see the
mountains, some cactus, go shopping and swimming! Make sure you look at the 3 month pics to see her swimming with Daddy!!

McKenna goes to the doctor tomorrow for her 4-month appt. We get to see how chunky and long she is. I think
she'll be about 50% for weight and probably for height too, she looks about mid size.....she definetly has doubled her birth
weight!!
She is starting to make more vocal noises instead of just the squealing. She'll ooh and aah she and gurgle her
spit in the back of her mouth. She kind of immitates some of the stuff that we do. What happened to our little
girl?!
